When I am called to duty, God,
Wherever flames may rage,
Give me the strength
to save some life,
What ever be its age.
Help me to embrace a little child,
Before it is too late
or some older person
from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert
and hear the weakest shout
and quickly and efficiently,
To put the fire out.
And if according to your will,
I have to lose my life,
Please bless
with your protecting hand,
My children and my wife.

Lord,
help me to serve and protect,
and uphold the laws of the land.
Help me to keep the peace
with courage and dignity.
And to use sound judgment
in all situations.
If force should become necessary,
may it be in good conscience.
Let me never forget the humanity
in all people.
When earthly justice sometimes fails,
I know heavenly justice will prevail.
Watch over my partner and me
as we work for the community's safety.
Be my companion on my daily bear
and the long night watches.
Put my loved ones' worries to rest
as You guide and protect me.
May I honor my uniform by serving
the community with courtesy and integrity.
